Thanksgiving Author's Purpose Sort

We are approaching the last couple of school days until Thanksgiving break! On Monday and Tuesday my first grade team is reviewing our reading comprehension, sight words and phonics skills for unit 2 of SF Reading Street. One of the comprehension strategies is author's purpose. This sort below has a Thanksgiving theme! Check it out {HERE}!

CVCe

Our main phonics and spelling skill right now is focused on CVCe words. I created a fun game that I am going to use with my students to use as review! The game cards include words for all vowels and there are also 12 bonus cards that include initial consonant blends/digraphs for differentiation. All of the cards are real CVC words that will turn into a CVCe word when a "Super E" card is added. Check it out {here}!

Stamp and Write!

So, I have been using stamp-and-write as one of my reading centers for Unit 2 of Scott Foresman Reading Street. The students LOVE this center! Check out the whole unit at my TPT store! I included a second copy that includes boxes for students who made need a little extra support :) Click {HERE} to   check it out!

All about Author's Purpose!

Last week I taught my first graders about the comprehension skill: author's purpose. We used story sentences to sort between persuade, inform and entertain on chart paper. Here is a picture of how it turned out! You can check out the author's purpose sort at my TPT store! Click <here>!

Here is a fun center activity that can be used to reinforce sentence structure while including some of the 1st grade sight words. I made this center activity to go along with the 1st Grade SF Reading Street 2.2 story "Farmer in the Hat." Check it out here on TPT!
